Deepwater Horizon Settlements Very Confusing

The Deepwater Horizon Settlements or BP settlements are to confusing with over 40 different claims forms to fill out and multiple claims to submit for the new courts supervised settlement program it  is to confusing for anybody trying to do it by them self. This creates two problems first there is the problem of people not submitting claims to the Deepwater Horizon Settlements and thereby do not get any money. Second problem is if you do nothing you are opt in automatically and that is a big problem.

Today a new form came out that everybody filing a claim has to submit, its called the registration form and its 12 pages of information that most people don’t have. This registration form has to be filled out by each claimant or their attorney. That is in addition to the claims form itself .

The attorney court supervised settlements are not for people filing a claim without an attorney, its made so difficult to do that you would have to hire an attorney to get your claim processed and submitted correctly.

Deepwater Horizon Settlements Submission

First of what a stupid name just so BP can get their name off the settlement because they of course is not admitting fault over the oil spill, this is a settlement that BP has agreed to but by agreeing they don’t admit fault for the incident. Anyway this is what you need to do when submitting your claims to the Deepwater Horizon Settlement fund.

First you fill out a form on these pages and get with an attorney, the attorney will ask you for the documents they need to process your claims and submit your forms. The attorney will then process and fill out the correct forms for you in the Deepwater Horizon Settlements and this will cost you nothing up front. The attorney does all the work and does not get paid until you get paid. This way you guys have the same interest in getting you paid as fast as possible.

BP Settlement Not Over Yet

So if you opt out from the Deepwater Horizon Settlements before October 1 2012 (deadline) then you would file you claims directly with BP and maybe get a BP settlement from them or go to court against them with your attorney. BP is still on the hook for the oil spill though OPA (Oil pollution act) and if the deepwater settlement does not give you what you want, then you would opt out and file directly with BP. If you wanted to you could opt out now and file directly with BP. So even though you see in the news that BP has settled all business and individual cases from the BP oil spill that is not the truth and there will be plenty of cases that will make it to the courts for a resolution.

If you claim does not fit the box of the GCCF (take a small payment and get the hell away) or the Deepwater Horizon Box if you are in the tourist industry or seafood industry we will pay you a little bit, then you have to opt out now and go directly after BP with your attorney.

How To Figure Out The Deepwater Horizon Settlements

First off I would say let the professional attorneys do it for you that is their job to do that. If you don’t want to use an attorney the next option would be to go stand in the long line of people waiting at the Deepwater offices, that should have been opened last Monday the 4th but did not. So call ahead to see if they are opened now. Last I hear about the offices from Pensacola everybody inline was told to go home again as the office was not yet ready. That is why I suggest using the attorneys we provide for you, everything will be done over emails or internet and you will be able to do your claims from home. Talk to your attorney over the phone and get everything done that way.

I understand if you are not understanding all the forms that needs to be filed out to the BP settlement I am the same way when I look at it. Fill out a form on this website today and get started now.
